Key terms
- Principal: the amount you commit to a plan.
- Term: how long the amount stays committed.
- Return: what a plan pays according to its terms, not a guarantee.
- Maturity: when the term ends and the final payout or capital return happens.
- Lock period: for staking, the time before funds can be released.
Questions to ask before investing
- How long will my money be committed, and can I exit early?
- How and when are returns paid, and into which wallet?
- What fees apply to deposits, plans and withdrawals?
- What happens if I need the money before maturity?
- Do I understand what could go wrong?
Good habits
Only invest money you can set aside for the whole term. Spread your funds rather than concentrating them, review your positions regularly from your dashboard and keep your contact details current so you never miss a notice.
